Wine Barrel Side Table

This beautiful side table has been created from a reused solid white oak wine barrel. The legs are integral stave which are further reinforced by the installation of a 1″ pine board shelf. The 18″ spacing (on 33″ table) between shelf and upper bands provides excellent visibility of items and can be used for storage of bottles and glasses or for displaying valued items in a commercial or home setting.

These barrels were hand crafted in cooperages in Europe and North America and were used by wineries in the Okanagan and Napa valleys in the process of ageing red wine The original cooperage brand and markings, the years of red wine stains and the wine crystals remaining on the interior all remind you of the original purpose and years of use. The markings on this barrel also track the history of its use and modifications during its useful life.

The structural integrity of this side table has been assured with the following features:
– Bands are screwed into every stave
– A 1″ pine shelf can be used for bottle or glass storage, or display. The shelf also adds structural rigidity to the table.
– The barrel is given a light sanding and finished with a light linseed oil application.
